COMMUNITY HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE . . .

• $10,000 contribution to the Mary D Fund. ( This has been the largest single contribution ever received by this fund. )

• $5,000 contribution to the Committee for the Great Salt Pond, to help defeat the planned expansion of Champlin's Marina two years in a row.

• $3,500 contribution to Helping Hands, to help stock the food shelf on Block Island two years in a row. Read 'Thank You' letter from Helping Hands coordinator, Elisa Hunt.

• $3,000 to the Double Ender Committee, to help support the 2009 Block Island 4th of July Celebration.

• $1,500 for deer blinds to help promote the Block Island Archery Association.

• $1,000 to hire extra police officers to help at the 4th of July festivities.

• $500 Donation for the Block Island Civil War Veteran's Memorial.

• $500 Education Scholarship to a Block Island Continuing Education Student.

• Support towards the Prevention Task Force's Parenting Workshops.

• Co-Sponsor for Block Island's Candidates Night.

• Annual hosting of the Block Island Lunch Bunch.

• Annual sponsorship of the "Blues on the Beach" concerts.
